In 2017, PGA Junior League Golf had a nearly 45,000 youth participants playing on 2,900 teams in the USA.
PGA Junior League Golf-China is dedicated to providing a fun, social and team orientated program that also teaches proper etiquette and sportsmanship and is available for all children 13 and under throughout Greater China.
PGA Junior League Golf-China uses a two-person "scramble" format that makes the game fun for players of all skill levels. Complete beginners can participate and enjoy their experience! Since its founding, PGA Junior League Golf has been an integral part of community activities and has encouraged family and friends to watch the games.
To solve resource constraints for children in China (limited activity time, limited access to golf courses, and limited travel time), PGA Junior League Golf-China developed an innovative adaptation of PGA Junior League Golf for play on indoor simulators. In keeping with the core values of PGA Junior League Golf, indoor play in China will also be fun, affordable and accessible.
Indoor competitions are also extremely flexible for scheduling. Indoor games reduce the time to play a match to less than two hours. Chinese youth have less time after school and with the option of indoor games on weekend and evenings the program will be available to a large number of children who might not otherwise have access to golf.
Indoor games also significantly reduce the cost of play. Green Fees around China average more than 800 yuan per 9 holes, while the average cost of a 9-hole match indoors is about 30 yuan.
For those in China who do have access to outdoor golf courses, we are proud to announce that PGA Junior League Golf-China can also be played at any outdoor golf course that has their golf professional register their location for the program. We invite all golf courses in China to participate in this proven, fun and exciting program.
We have divided Greater China into 10 different regions including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Each region will offer PGA Junior League Golf-China starting April 1, 2018.
There will be two seasons each year in China, Spring / Summer season, and Fall/Winter season. After the Spring / Summer season each League will form an "All-Star" team and compete in the "Post-Season" for a Chinese National Championship!
2018

Because PGA Junior League Golf is organized at the local level, many aspects of the program vary from team-to-team and league-to-league. This could include the scheduling of matches, number of teams in a league, practices offered, price of the program, etc.
In addition to a participant's games, practices and social experience with PGA Junior League Golf, every player will receive a team uniform; including colored and numbered jersey along with a matching hats and bag tag.
Yes! PGA Junior League Golf prides itself on being recreational and developmental, first, and competitive, second.
Each Captain is responsible for ensuring that any child in attendance at any game must compete in at least one flag (a 3-hole segment). Even when alternates are not playing in their respective match, they are still an active and valuable part of the team, assisting in strategy, reading putts and aiding with the pace of play.
All players play from the same tees. They are friendly and fair for all genders and abilities.
Often better players and inexperienced players are paired together - creating the opportunity for both team success and the mentoring and development of the inexperienced player.
Specifically, courses are setup to not exceed 2,800 yards, with limited forced carries and with appropriate yardages for all holes relative to their par.
The scheduling for every league and team is different.
The regular season of PGA Junior League Golf typically has between 4-6 regular season games. These games can take place any time between April 1st and July 15th (Season Two will be September 1-December 15). Often the team Captain will work with their players and families to pick times that are family friendly so everyone can participate (nights, weekends, etc.).
The regular season of China games mainly uses RG indoor golf facilities as venue, uses designated 9 holes course in RG golf simulator equipment.
Please contact your Captain for scheduling questions specific to your PGA Junior League Golf team.
Like most youth sports, you are responsible for transporting - or coordinating transportation with other players and parents - to and from games. PGA and LPGA Professional Captains do not provide transportation to and from league games.
Each game consists of 2 matches, 9-holes in length and typically takes place over the course of 1.5 hours indoor and 2.5 hours outdoor.
Pace of play is important and PGA Junior League Golf provides the perfect arena to instill these values at an early age. Captains will advise their players on strategies to quickly work together and ensure an enjoyable experience for all - players and spectators.
Yes! Spectators are encouraged.
PGA Junior League Golf is a family friendly event. It is not uncommon to see 20+ spectators following an individual match. It's the perfect opportunity to spend an evening together as a family, outdoors and in a relaxed environment.
If you do attend a PGA Junior League Golf match, however, please be sure to abide by the Spectator guidelines. If you would like to be more involved, consider volunteering to score a match.
Absolutely. PGA Junior League Golf - like other youth recreational sports - thrives on the involvement of the community.
While PGA and LPGA Professionals exclusively serve as team Captains, often parents get involved as Coaches to handle detailed scheduling or administrative management of the team.

While PGA Junior League Golf is predominantly focused on being a recreational youth sport, there is no denying that the thrill of competition fuels the fun!
At the conclusion of the regular season, all-star teams are assembled. Through a series of qualifiers, sub-regional and regional championships, eight teams will qualify for the PGA Junior League Golf Championship.
For additional post-season details, check-out the post-season page and follow along with the most recent developments!
All-Star teams are assembled based on the number of teams in a local league and the final standings of the local league. Below are some examples of how an All-Star team is created:
At the end of the regular season, a league champion team will be crowned. The winning Captain will be the league's All-Star team Captain.
Every team in the league will have some representation on the All-Star team, however the actual numbers will vary based on league size.
At no time, without the expressed permission of PGA Junior League Golf staff will an All-Star team be permitted to have more than 5 players on its roster from any one team in the league.
A team may surrender an All-Star spot only upon email confirmation of the voluntary surrender by the surrendering Captain. Once an All-Star spot is awarded to a player, only the player or their parents may surrender the spot via email confirmation.
All-Star team players must participate in at minimum of two regular season matches.
